Abstract Teachers’ burnout has severe consequences for themselves and their students. The identification of factors related to can provide valuable information about the relevance interindividual differences. Beyond work-related factors, is assumed be affected by individuals’ personality traits, several empirical studies already exist that have investigated this association in teachers. However, a comprehensive meta-analytical examination missing so far. current meta-analysis, including 18 primary with 19 samples (total N = 4,724), aimed examine relation between dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced personal accomplishment) Big Five traits (neuroticism, extraversion, openness experience, agreeableness, conscientiousness) In addition, moderating effects teachers’ professional level were investigated. line our expectations, neuroticism was positively all three dimensions, medium-sized found emotional exhaustion depersonalization small effect size accomplishment. other significant associations negative. Apart from nonsignificant openness, rated as medium. moderator analyses did not show any support concerning traits.
